On this Black Friday, instead of braving the holiday gift mayhem – I am searching for the Perfect Black Mirror for a formal entry foyer.  The project is in the Toronto neighborhood of Rosedale in a home with beautiful bones.  I recently purchased an 18th century French console from Toronto boutique Boj Decor. The base is mahogany and has water gilded 24K gold leaf details.  The original marble top is still in tact.

The mirror will sit above the console – Here are a few options I am considering:

If you can’t find a mirror in the right size/frame style, visit your local custom frame shop.  You can choose a style frame and have it cut to your specifications.  All you have to do is add mirror and you’re done!  For a more traditional look, specify a 1.75″ bevel in the glass.  For a contemporary look, no bevel.  Choosing the right mirror for a room is like choosing the right lipstick for your outfit – it will make or break the overall look.  xoEB
